- The name of the District is Carrigaline. It is in the Parish of Crosshaven. The appoximate number of people is about two hundred. The majority of the houses are slated and the rest of them are thatched. There is a big rock in the district. The people called O'Lyne lived in the district. That is why this district is called Carrigaline. The family name most common is "Mahony". There are a few old people living in the district. They know Irish. They can tell stories in Irish or English. Their names are:
"David Leahy, Church Road, Carrigaline."
"Kate Donovan, Kilnagleary, Carrigaline."
"Mary Foott, Kilmoney, Carrigaline."
There were not a lot of houses locally in former times. The most of them are in ruins now. Some of the people went to America and elsewhere in former times at the time of the famine.
