    (3)
    The women of Carbery West
They are roasting and baking away
For providence lately have sent them
A Neptune, the God of the sea
    Fine apples exported in barrels
    For Liverpool market were they
    The Iberian steamer was carried
And paddled along 'oer the sea
Long life to the crew and the Captain
That steered her across the rough main
For eating pork, steak, flour and apples
Our women will get young again
    (4)
Those three sister steamers are gone now
No sorrow for them I daresay
There is one of them south in [Faillen ui Cariad]
And the two more in Dunmanus Bay
They will never more cross the Atlantic
Asleep in the deep now they lay
A home for crabs, lobsters and conguers
    Corroding and rotting away.
Long life to the crew and the Captain
That steered her across the rough main
For eating pork, steak, flour and apples
Our women will get young again
