    Potatoes are grown on all farms in this district Practicaly every frmer sets from a half acre to, two acres of potatoes every year. They are the staple food of our country. The potatoes are set in ridges or in drills. for ridges the farmer first selects an old field with a good strong skin[?] on it. He then carts manure to the field and spreads the ridgs of manure and drops the seed some copes it with the plough and others the lory.
