  1. Fairy Forts
    There are a great many forts to be saw in the country today. The were built by the Danes for protection and it is said that after the Danes left them fairies are [occu?] them since. The forts are in a circle and trees growing around them. Lights are very often saw at them. The old people are [sayde?] (to have built) that it is unlucky to have anything to do with them. There is a fort in Shreeney and long ago an old man cut a tree in it and next day he lay very ill
