  1. There is one forge in this district. The smiths are called Stauntons. Their people have been smiths for years. The forge is situated in the village of Cordaragh in parish of Aughagower Co Mayo. It is about three hundred yards from the Cordaragh crossroads. There is a stream running by the forge. The forge has a galvanized roof. There is an ordinary door into the forge. There are two fireplaces in the forge. The bellows was made in Dublin. The implements the smith uses are hammer, Shoeing hammer anvil sledge vice rasp punch
