    flat, wide, drain. The cows are tied on either side of the drain. The drain is a few inches deeper than where the cows are tied. There is a big plank running along each gable. Around this plank a chain is tied for each cow. A bit of rope is tied to the chain. There is a loop at one end of the rope and another knot at the other end. This rope is tied around the cow's neck.
