- (continued from previous page)flat, wide, drain. The cows are tied on either side of the drain. The drain is a few inches deeper than where the cows are tied. There is a big plank running along each gable. Around this plank a chain is tied for each cow. A bit of rope is tied to the chain. There is a loop at one end of the rope and another knot at the other end. This rope is tied around the cow's neck. The knot is put in to the loop so that the cow cannot(continues on next page)
