  1. About fifty eight years ago in the month of February a great coat of snow fell. It fell so heavy that you could not know the road from the river or the field from the garden, or the dry land from the bogach. No animal could travel or the would get smothered. There was about 15 feet of snow on the road and about 20 feet in the river. There was no water to be got unless you carted to it. The people used to boil snow for water. No lives
