About a hundred years there was a great storm in this country
This storm was the greatest storm ever remembered in Ireland.
It began about three o'clock in the day and lasted all that evening and night. No man slept well that night because they were occupied trying to keep the roofs on their houses. Many houses were carried away by the storm that night. Hay and straw were brought away and trees and everything were knocked on the ground. The storm carried the cocks of hay to the trees
Next morn all the hay was caught on the bushes and fences.
