  1. Candles were made some 100 years ago from tallow obtained from the fat of cows, In every house there was a mould for putting the candle into shape. This was done by melting the tallow and leaving it in the mould to set.

  3. Some 50 years ago smiths were in great request. All work at that time was done by hand, some very good work was done by smiths in those days.
