"Hedge Schools"
Long ago the teachers had no place in which to teach school except in farmers 'houses.These schools were called "Hedge schools".There was one teacher in this locality who was teaching in a farmer's house the place in which he was teaching was near a spring well.Every night he used have stir -about for his supper and one of the boys used to bring him the water to make his supper with.One of the boys laughed at the idea of he making his supper with water ,he knew no better .But the master had it in for him.When he was making the stir-about he hit him a wallop of the porridge stick across the ear and burned him.
