Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Long ago, the women of this district spun their own thread. They used to exchange a bag of wool for a bag of rolls of wool with a shopkeeper. The woman would spin the rolls into thread. Some of the thread would be knitted into gloves, socks and other articles of apparel.
    Some of the thread would be sent to a weaver, who would make it into flannel. When the housewife would get the flannel she would make a dye of moss and the bark of oak. With this she would dye the flannel and after dyeing it make it into blankets, and clothes.
    Candles were made in this district by melting fat into a mould and putting a cord through the centre. The fat soon hardened and the candle was ready for use.
    Baskets were made by weaving supple willow rods and forming them cone-shaped. The bottom was made by putting a round board in the hole and by passing some rods beneath it.
    On nearly every farm there is a derelict lime-
