goes to the house to make clothes. He does not stock cloth but the people who want the clothes made buy the cloth and bring it to him and he makes the clothes. Cloth is not spun or woven in this district nowadays but it used to be long ago. My grandmother remembers when six woman would join and send hundreds of yards of linen to the bleach in Keady to get it whitened. She remembers also when they would spin wool and sent it to the woollen weaver to get blankets made out of it. When the blankets would come home they would be put across the floor and the people of the house would start kicking them to thicken them. The women of the house would be throwing porringers of water on them while the other members of the house would be kicking them.
