- Pupil:- Maureen Markey, Corrodo, Tunnyduff P.O Bailieboro.
From:- Mrs Mary Lynch. We have a churn at home. It is about two feet in height. The sides are round. It is a new churn. It is a cylindrical churn. Butter is made twice each week in Summer and once each week in Winter. Some of the people in the house do the churning. It takes about half an hour to churn. Strangers don’t churn. It is churned by the hand. The handle is moved in a rolling motion from side to side. Butter is ready when it forms into knobs on the top of the milk. Hot water is poured in in cold weather to bring it to the proper temperature. The butter is lifted on to a trencher into a dish of cold water.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
