Now when the Irish saw the British had such a large force they did not intend to attack until the greater part of the army would pass. And then they would take them in the Rear. So the Irish had orders to lie low, but as usual a traitor crept amongst them and fired a shot so that brought all the Army on to them and the lid to retreat down the other side of the hill down the hill towards Drumbanagher the river being swollen at that Time with big floath some of them the Irish attempted to cross a fallen tree but it broke down
