- Easter:
The old people say that on Easter Sunday morning the sun dances with joy at the Resurrection of Our Lord. Some people get up a sun rise to see it dancing.
A few days before Easter the children go around and gather eggs from their friends and neighbours. This is called their "Cluthog". If the day is fine they light a fire in a field, and make tea and boil eggs. If the day is wet they have to eat their "Cluthog" inside.
May Day
On the first of May the children used to have what is called a May bush. It was a white thorn bush and was decorated with egg shells, ribbons, Mayflowers, and candles. It was left standing(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
