  1. (continued from previous page)
I joined the crowd as a chip of the block,
Though I couldn't trace back to the old stock.
I thought we were some way related,
I found the whiskey was up to dick[?]
I found myself drinking it mighty quick
But before any time, by the Nordha[?], avic,
    I found I was whiskivicated.
When I thought a trumpet sounded on the course,
I ran to the door, but with all my force,
    I fell against a barrel.
How long I lay there, I cannot tell,
But I afterwards heard the Little Nell,
Gave a very tight chase to Daisy Bell,
If a man can believe Jack Farrell.
When O awoke 'twas after ten,
And the shop was full of drunken men,
And 'twas the I got time, after all the din,
To stoop and tie my laces.
Then O'Reilly gave orders the shop to be cleared,
Then says Paddy the Post "Before we leave here,
We'll give a cheer for bitter beer."
And all parted in peace from the races.
