   Saint Brigid's crosses are made before the first of February. It is made from two pieces of stick and green rushes. The two pieces of stick are carved into a cross, and the rushes are plaited in and out through the sticks.
   This cross is then hung over the door to bring luck and if it is thrown out before Saint Brigid's next feast it is said that something unlucky will happen in the house.
   Holly ivy and misteltoe are hung round the house for decoration. In nearly every house there is a sacred Heart picture hanging over
