Another very common cure is for a "stye." on a person's eye. The person gets nine thorns off a gooseberry bush; he then rubs the thorns to his eye every morning, and he throws away the last one, he rubs to it, until the nine thorns are gone, and then the "stye" disappears. The curer of this could be anyone.
