- I live in the towland of Leehary in the parish of Crosserlough.
The are about fourteen families living in Leehary and about sixty people.
There are four families of the name Brady, two families of the name Mc Evoy, two families of the name Cooney, two families of the name Mc Cabe one family of the name Boylan, one family of the name Lord and one family of the name Mulvaney.
There are eight slated houses and six thatches houses in it.
Leehary got its name from the old warriors who lived in it long ago.
There are six old people living in it.
None of them know any Irish.
Lames Mc Cabe and Owen Mc Cabe Latnadrona are good story tellers.
Houses were more numerous locally in former times.
There are old ruins to show where the were in some places.
Some people emigrated from here at the time of the Famine. Most of them went to America and some of them went to Australia.
Most of Leehary is hilly and there is some boggy land in it.
There was a wood in it long ago but it is all cut.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
