- Cures For Diseases. Warts
Here are some cures for warts,
Holy Water applied to the warts on Sunday morning after Sunday morning, while the person is fasting is said to cure warts.
This is another cure. The first black snail you meet accidently, rub it to the warts, and then hang him on a whitethorn bush. By the time he is withered the warts will have vanished.
Another cure is to cut a potato in three parts and rub each part to the warts. Bury the potato and when it is rotten the warts will be gone.
Castor oil, blue stone, and washing soda are also recommended for warts. The juice of a stalk of dandelion when rubbed to the warts will cure them.
It is said that the water of the holes of some stones, when applied to the warts will cure them.
Over in Curraghabreedin there is a stone, with a hole in it, and if you drop a pin in the water which is in it, and say an Our Father and a Hail Mary you will be cured.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
