    and for his country he died. Myles Reilly and his cousin Aodh Oge O'Reilly lived in Cavan. There was a castle near Blacklion which the English left in ruins. Myles Reilly had successfully defended it for some time. One night Aodh Oge's wife was walking near the castle and she was shot by an Englishman, Myles and Aodh Oge, in a frenzy of grief and rage ordered an immediate attack. In a secluded valley surrounded by rocky hills and about two from that night Myles could be seen giving orders to about thirty men armed with a rifle and sword. Myles asked would they all meet in the same place the next morning at two o'clock. Every man stepped forward and said he would. The men were as good as their words, for before two o'clock on the next morning they were assembled at the meeting place. Myles gave the order to advance forward towards the castle. They surrounded the castle
