    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    In February 1902 there was a very severe wind-storm in this country. It commenced in the evening and it gradually became worse - until about midnight the gale was terrific.
    Much damage was done, Roofs were blown off houses, large trees were uprooted the remains of which are around this locality yet. Early in the day before the storm the sky was heavy and streaked with red clouds. The wind blew from the sout-west direction, The night the storm took place was very bright and starry.
    People were out on business with horses or other vehicles and were not able to return home before the storm had begun were obliged to remain in neighbours' houses because of the roads being blocked by fallen trees.
