  2. Many years ago the houses were made of clay, and most of them were thatched. Some people had a bed in the kitchen. This was covered in the day time. The fire was usually in the middle of the floor. There was a hole in the middle of the floor with iron around it.
    The rush soaked in grease was the only light used at night time.
