  1. (continued from previous page)
Kings fall before His justice -dealing
    hand,
And mighty nations topple in the dust
His word can make or end
    A thousand worlds,
Humble obedience to His law is life
    Rebellion - death.
For by His will nation's brutal
    passions
Cause mankind to turn the earth
    Into a slaughter house -
Stifling the air with polluted breath
    Where virtue flies affrighted.
    At the clang of strife,
    And unrelenting war.
