    behind the ditch and caught the horse by the bridle. Four others jumped out then, pulled down the priest off the horse and they cruelly murdered him. They ran off leaving the priest by the roadside. The horse ran home. The servant boy not seeing the priest wandered what had happened. He went in search of the priest and found him murdered.
    From that day to this there is a cloud hanging over that village and it is called "The Cloudy Country" by the Carlow and the Wexford people.
    There are descendants of the murderes in this locality. Mrs Grothier who married George Grothier was from that place and her name was also Grothier before she was
