- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, with a certain Ralph, as first Abbot.
The Abbey was well endowed, and one of its "Granges" was the present Monksgrange, in the parish of Killanne.
The old parish of Killanne was an impropriate Rectory of Graigue, that is to say, the Abbot of Graigue-na-managh owned the Rectory, and provided a Vicar, generally a Cistercian Monk. The monks had another "grange" at Gurrawn. The White Mountain forms part of the Highland Chain, whose ridge is the boundry line separating the counties of Wexford and Carlow. It is divided from Blackstairs by the Boro River, which also separates the parishes of Killanne and Templeudigan. The "Commons" within these parishes are called "Bantry Commons", and "Blackstairs Commons", containing about 4,000 acres.- Faisnéiseoir
