    from his youth, he made some very beautiful poems. He was the only one of the family that had this gift, and he did not inherit it from any of his ancestors, as they were not poets.
    When about the age of 16 years he was apprenticed to the drapery business at Switzers + Co. Dublin.
    Laurence died in 1901, at the early age of 22, and is buried in Glasnevin.
    When he was about 20 years of age he composed the following poem.
    "Where the Boro Waters flow".
    1.
    There is a spot in my own country.
    Deep within my heart enshrined.
    There I spent my early childhood.
    'Midst the neighbours true and kind.
    Often when the room is silent,
    Back in thought I fondly go.
    Where I spent my early childhood,
    Where the Boro waters flow.
