She used to teach English Reading writing and Arithmetic. There were about twenty pupils attending. Every pupil paid two pence a week. After about three years she stopped teaching in the old house and went around to the farmer's houses to teach and every child she taught they paid three-pence.
There was another school in Cametigue. The teacher's name was Richard O Connor. He used to teach English reading and writing. The children had an acre for a play-ground. They made their own ink.
There were no steel-pens then and they had to use goose-quills to write. They had no black-boards. There was another in Ballynavocran. The(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
