    Sweet gem of purity
    Help me on my way
    That I may live in surety
    In Heav'n with thee one day

    (II)
    Oh Thou who died for love of God
    Lift me so weak and small
    Far from the wicked earthly rod
    Which here torments us all

    (III)
    For years this heavy earth you trod(?)
    Striving earnest day by day
    Now your great reward is God
    To your request he'll not say nay

    (IV)
    On bended knee dear Saint I pray
    Ask of Him so good and kind
    To send me help to light my way
    That I eternal life may find
