  1. St. Stephen's Day :
    The Custom of going around with the wren was practised in this district on this day. As far as I can ascertain the custom is dead some sixty or seven years.
    We are left with no rhymes.

    St. Patrick's Day :
    No particular custom other than wearing the shamrock exists or is related to have existed on this day. However, I have heard of a custom in West Cork in connection with this feast :
    A switch of sally was thrust into the griseach and when blackened well was drawn out + with it was made a figure of the cross on the naked right arm of each member of the family. The Blessed
