    harvest in the Potato season for Potatoes were always collected in his baskets. They were round + about 30 ins diam. one foot high with wicker handles on each side. They were quite strong + lasted for years.
    The shape was something like -
    - drawing of potato basket -
    The baskets were made of sally switches - and very neat fancy baskets werre often made of the "golden sally"
    First, the Hoop was made
    (generally of a piece of sliced timber, flat and about 1 in wide
    This was then framed with"Ribs" - after which the interlacing was carried out.
