where it was thought the well was; to see it opened. The men dug a few sods here and there and eventually they found some rough steps that led to the well. They knew they had found it. That was in the month of Sept. 1910 and on the 1st of March the well, which is dedicated to St David was opened, and a procession was held and all the school children, men and women, mached from Oylegate Church to the well. Now people from all parts of the country come and numerous cures have taken place.
Hundreds of crutches, sticks, and other things were left behind and jars, bottles, and cans of water were brought away to people's homes that has not the means of coming.
Some very bad invalides often slept there all night and now when you go down you see people praying at the statue particuarly in the pattern of Ballinaslaney the townsland where St. David's well is situated
