  2. Once upon a time there lived a man in Crory whose name was John Reck. He walked to Dublin in a day and another man would want to be running to keep up with him. He used to win a good deal of walking races. This happened about y 40 years,, ago. He used to ,, go by the people of the parish as "Reck the Walker", There was not a man that time that could beat him walking.
    Often times men used to challenge him but failed to beat him. Once he challenged a man to walk to Dublin and who ever would do it in the shortest time would be the best. So they started off from a place called Castle Sow. They started off about 8 o'Clock in the morning and John Reck was in Dublin by 6 o clock that
