  2. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. People make a lot of pancakes on that day. If there are any marriagable boys or girls out on that night they put a rope about them and drag them to be married. It is the last day that people have to get married on until Lent is over.

  3. On Ash Wednesday we cannot use milk or butter at our meals. We have to eat brown bread and black tea at the breakfast and tea. We eat potatoes and fish at the dinner. In school we hang ash bags on each others backs.
