- Everywhere we go we see ruins of churches, monasteries, castles and buildings and around each hangs an air of mystery and if those old ruins could only speak what tales we would hear. As it is, now and again we are only able to lift the veil of mystery and we can only get a glimpse of the past of these old ivy covered grey ruins.One of the oldest buildings in the district is the castle of Donore. The castle is situated in the townsland of Ardnurcher and is in the barony of Moycashel.
