    In this locality long ago shops were common. There were three shops, one in Donore, one in Streamstown, and another in Rockfield. Hundreds of years ago, people did not give money for the goods but gave eggs, meal, and potatoes for them. On Sunday after Mass the goods for the house were bought.
    Long ago the people bartered goods, that is to say, they exchanged one kind of goods for another. Fairs and markets were held in Streamstown on the fair green, but the fairs are not held there now.
    The people considered Sunday as the most unlucky day for buying or selling stock.
