    Penal Days
In a place called Dunboden there lived a man named "Dawson" who always helped the priests during the Penal Days. There lived also a man "Bobbie Bawn" a Priest Hunter who told on Dawson that he kept a priest in his house. However "Bobbie Bawn" killed the priest. "Dawson" on hearing this became furious and threatened to kill "Bobbie Bawn".
He invited him to supper, and after the feast, as they were going up the stairs, he attacked him with an axe. "Bobbie Bawn" falling at his feet exclaimed, "Dawson, Dawson, spare me and he answered, "I won't" and Bobbie Bawn cursed him saying, "I will break your neck before a week" and Dawson killed him. As he fell a few drops of blood fell on the stairs, and are to be seen there to this day. A week after his death, as Dawson was riding along the road, the spirit of Bobbie Bawn jumped out from the ditch, frightened the horse and Dawson fell and broke his neck. Bobbie Bawn was buried in an urn in Dunboden Park. His spirit caused great distress to passersby and a holy priest called Father Shanley took the evil spirit and laid it in Lough Ennell between the froth and the water.
