    ointments such as the burst ointment, blast ointment and ulcer ointment. A man, named Corcoran who lives in this district, has the cure for burst. The ointment is made in this manner. Nine herbs a got and fried with butter on a pan. The substance of herbs (is) goes through the grease and when it cools, it is put aside and many are freed from cruel sufferings by it. There is also a drawing out ointment made of sugar and cold tar soap, boiled which is applied before the other ointment.
