  1. Clothes made in the homes.
At the present time there are no men's shirts made in the homes. The bought shirts are made of cotton and flannelette. Long ago all shirts were made of white linen which was woven in the district.
There was plenty of flax grown and the fibre of the flax was woven into linen.
Long ago the house-wives took great pride in washing and ironing the shirts. The men used to have a shirt for Sunday and it was never worn on week-days.
Socks, stockings and jumpers and other garments are knitted by the women of every house. There are a few spinning wheels in the district but they are not worked by anyone.
Long ago the sheeps wool was spun into thread with the spinning wheel.
