John FoxFitzsimons is the most common name in Glenidan. The land is marshy and boggy. There is one lake in it namely Lough Sagart. The townsland derives its name on account of all the ivy that grows in it. The old people are unable to tell stories in Irish but they can tell them in English.
Frances Fitzsimons - My home district is Ballinavine, it is situated in the north of Westmeath, and it is in the parish of Collinstown, and in the Barony of Fore East. The number of families in it are four, but long ago there were a few more families living in it. The names of the families are Brabazon's, Gurren's, Fagan's and Nugents.
