  1. Signs of fine weather.
    Sheep grazing on the hills around. Smoke ascending vertically in the evening. When the mist rises off Hill of Ben in morning, a fine day will follow. Swallows flying high. A rainbow in the morning in is the shepherds warning. A rainbow at night is the shepherds delight. Rain coming from East lasts 24 hours.
    West wind brings most rain.
    'Aurora Borealis' when seen brilliantly denotes hardship.
    Crows flying around in flocks & cawing loudly are a sign of a coming storm.
    Dust forming 'Will of the Wisp' on roadway is a sign of rain.
    'Jack of lantern' seen in marshy districts is a sign of storm.

    I am required to plant a groove
    To please the lady whom i love
    This apple groove to be composed
    Of 19 trees in 9 straight rows
    5 trees in each row I must place
    Or else she'll hold me in disgrace
