Through Billywood lands I did stray
By Flora the plains were enamelled
And lambkins did sporting play.II
Down a lonely vale I did wander
Where a fair damsel hath seen
On the banks of a winding meander.
Composing fair Shamrocks so green.III
The raiment she wore it was homely.
Her face it was blooming and fair
She was virtuous, majestic and comely.
The thoughts of her mind were sincere.IV
She was fairer that Herbey or Pandora
Of Flora the fair flowery Queen
She blushed like refulgent Arora
Composing fair Shamrock so green.V
Dejected in grief she stood waiting
I listened a while to her song
Her words they were true and prevailing
