    There is only one tailor around here at the present time. The people bring the material to him to sew and get measured there. He does not stock the cloth. The cloth is not spun locally. Long ago the people used to make all their own clothes. The clothes they wore was generally made from flax and wool.
    They used to grow their own flax. When it would be ripe they would pull it and scutch it. They would send the stems of to the mill and it would come back in cloth, fine linen or coarse linen (with) which ever was required. Shirts and sheets would be made from the linen.
