There are a few cures that are supposed to heal certain complaints in this district such as weaving a red ribbon round your neck, and walking by the side of running water. They are supposed to heal whooping cough.
Goose grease is used for sprained ankles. Gladdim is used for mumps. There is a well in Dalystown where people are supposed to be cured from any disease. Herbs and poultices are used for lots of diseases. Boiled nettles are supposed to cure measles and Dandelion roots cure other diseases. Poultices are put on sore chests and boils.
The seventh son is often look upon as having power to cure diseases.
There is a man in Dalystown who is called "The Doctor" because he is the seventh son in the family. Trixie Love,
