    There is no graveyard attached to the village of Baltray; the nearest for Catholic internment being Termonfeckin. No ruins of Church or monastery were ever found here and no tidings of either being built.
    In a field to the north of Baltray are a few very tall stones standing upright. They are supposed to mark the burial places of giants of a few hundred years ago.
    The mussel industry was a very lucrative one for the village folk some years ago, but it no longer exists.
    Before the Boyne viaduct was erected in 1855 a few men from Banktown a townland close to Beaulieu were engaged in a profitable manner in driving the mail car each day from Drogheda to Dundalk, and from Drogheda to Dublin. The car carried the mails to and fro and soldiers also went on the cars.
    The drivers were very much assisted
