   Let us sing a hymn, a beautiful hymn
   to Mary the Mother of God,
   The hope of the world through the ages down
   Whose foot on the serpent trod.

   Let us lift our hearts in loving prayer,
   To our Mother and Queen so dear,
   Who is ever willing our griefs to share,
   And our fainting hearts to cheer.

   Pure as the snow on the mountain's crest,
   Far from the plain below
   Or the stream from the glaciers crystal breast
   When the summer breezes blow.

   Lovelier far than the fairest flower,
   That earth on the heavens know
   Perfumed with grace more sweet that a bower,
   Where the clustering roses grow.
