  1. This story which I am about to write is supposed to happened above Drogheda. Long ago there were two old people living together (husband and wife).
    One night they went to Drogheda for, as I suppose, their usual groceries. By the way it was on Hallow E'en this happened. When they arrived home they found they had run short of water.
    The wife said that she would go to the well for some water. On her way to the well she tripped on something. She didn't pay much heed to that; but continued on. On her return with the water she tripped at the same place again, with the water. She did not know how to account for this.
    She went back again to the well for more water; but this time she decided to return home a different way.
    When she awoke the next morning she found to her great surprise that there was no water in the can; and that it seemed as if it had been emptied purposely and dried with a cloth. The woman was greatly surprised; but did not mention it to her husband. The following days she found a threepenny bit in the can
