  1. There are many holy wells in this district.
    Sunday well'' this holy well is situated on the side of an old road which leads to Kilcroney School. People came to visit this well for the cure of many diseases. When people would come to get cured they would tie a piece of string on a bush which hangs over the well, and take a bottle of water home with them.

    The Friars stream'' This stream is supposed to have followed St Moctha when he was hunted out of Monaghan. He came on to Louth and this stream followed him. There are cures of many diseases in this stream, people come a long journey for cures. St Mocthas house is beside
