- There are many fairy forts in this district, there is one in the middle of a field owned by Patrick McGeough of Louth, it is covered with trees and briars.
The people believed that it is a fairy fort because many people saw lights in it one night long ago, they also believed that there is a crock of gold hidden in it by the fairies.
There is a deep trench around it, when the people come to see it they find it rather hard to get to it. Once a man that owned it cut a tree, and the next morning, one of his brothers was dead and no one ever touched it since.
The cows are not allowed to graze on it, if you stood on the top of it you would see a god distance away.
