    one side. It is supposed to be the entrance to a cave where ammunition and money is stored.
    There is another old monument set in the wall of an old chapel. There is writing cut out on it, and it says that the chapel was built for the glory of God and the honor of St. Patrick, by the Rev. Father Kieran, Parish Priest of the parish in the year 1879.
    Holy Wells
    There is a holy well near Lurgankeel called St. Brigid's well or Sunday well. People used to visit it, and it is related that a man's eyesight was restored after bathing his eyes in the water. It is surrounded with stones, and there is a very high ash tree growing over it. The water from this well is never used for household use. St. Brigid's arm is supposed to be buried beside Sunday well.
